ed's ways of flying

Sunday, June 12

Tonight, I am a security guard on a building site. One quarter of the way into a 17 hour shift, I?m already thinking that I have drank too much tea and am going to need to pace myself if I am going to last till 9am tomorrow morning(I started at 4pm this afternoon) without caffeine poisoning.

Handy work really as apart from my patrols around the site and having to check in every hour on the hour, I am able to get some studying done and effectively get paid for it. I?m in sore need of it too, I seem to be struggling more this module. I am sure I can turn it around but I do need to start putting a lot more work in. This is a good start.

Things have changed in my student house. There aren?t any student there any more, which I suppose, makes it a plain ?house?. Until more tenants arrive for the summer months, it is just myself and Polish Dan. A nice enough guy but as he works night shifts, so I hardly ever see him. I had thought he had moved out until a couple of days ago when I heard him swearing at things in Polish - his main activity when neither sleeping nor working.

I am going to be moving out myself in the next couple of days. A fairly similar house except the guys that I will be moving in with are a bit older, the house is a little bit tidier, the room larger for the same rent. I can?t really argue with that. I will have the same landlady which is good although I am yet to see their speedboat. I am beginning to suspect that offers of wakeboarding action were just playing to my weakness and all a ploy to get me to stay.
