A flying job!!!!
Wow, the "getting a recommendation" from my last entry months ago has finally paid off.
I haven't added anything here for ages. I intended to say how I was getting along with finding a job, but it wasn't going well so I didn't feel like broadcasting the fact. That, and laziness.
Well things suddenly changed. I had a couple of interviews in June, one of which I didn't get and the other, BA Connect I made it through to a Sim ride and as a result of that was put in their 'hold pool'. Basically a limbo where you may (or may not) at some point receive a call with a start date.
Well, Thursday afternoon two weeks ago, I received a call saying that someone had dropped out at the last minute, would I be free to start Monday? I almost fell off the roof(guttering repairs) and after a pico-seconds thought, was able to tell them that I would be able to help them out. The next day saw me being fitted for a uniform at BA uniform stores, Gatwick. That made it seem a bit more real. Can't really believe it fully yet though.
First I need to complete the type rating for the Embraer 145 - the (very sexy) plane I will be flying. The first two weeks have been hard graft with an exam we all passed today. Now follows another two weeks of groundschool, then three weeks in the Simulator before getting to fly the real thing.
Best get back to the books.
