Exams Approaching Fast

Last weekend, I was a security guard again. Even better this time as I didn't have to report every hour and didn't have too much to do as it was a motor show set deep into the grounds of Winton House in Wiltshire. Easy money.

I really need to start working hard for the exams that are coming up in less than two weeks. I feel far less prepared for these ones than the ones last module. I am sure I will be able to turn it around, but am going to need to work flat out from here in.

I feel like this a short post. There was quite a bit I had wanted to write/remember about the motor show job and why I haven't moved yet, but it will either have to wait or probably be forgotten as I don't have the time.

Sunday, June 12

Tonight, I am a security guard on a building site. One quarter of the way into a 17 hour shift, I?m already thinking that I have drank too much tea and am going to need to pace myself if I am going to last till 9am tomorrow morning(I started at 4pm this afternoon) without caffeine poisoning.

Handy work really as apart from my patrols around the site and having to check in every hour on the hour, I am able to get some studying done and effectively get paid for it. I?m in sore need of it too, I seem to be struggling more this module. I am sure I can turn it around but I do need to start putting a lot more work in. This is a good start.

Things have changed in my student house. There aren?t any student there any more, which I suppose, makes it a plain ?house?. Until more tenants arrive for the summer months, it is just myself and Polish Dan. A nice enough guy but as he works night shifts, so I hardly ever see him. I had thought he had moved out until a couple of days ago when I heard him swearing at things in Polish - his main activity when neither sleeping nor working.

I am going to be moving out myself in the next couple of days. A fairly similar house except the guys that I will be moving in with are a bit older, the house is a little bit tidier, the room larger for the same rent. I can?t really argue with that. I will have the same landlady which is good although I am yet to see their speedboat. I am beginning to suspect that offers of wakeboarding action were just playing to my weakness and all a ploy to get me to stay.

Vague update

Since I last wrote an entry to this diary, a couple of weeks have passed. I had written a very witty and entertaining post about my bank holiday weekend. However, it was obviously such genius, it reached that critical state of near perfection whereby computers feel the need to crash. So depressed, I haven't felt like writing anything since.

Two good weekends have passed, the first a bank holiday involved Chit and Flash visiting, barbeques, flying toy planes, awesome kitesurf session(best yet) and a beer or two. The latest involved lots of hairy overpowered kiting, house parties and an aching body.

In between the weekends, I have been trying to get into the swing of studying again. I've had varying degrees of success but what should be good is that I am working in a security guard's hut this weekend, which should give me the chance to get some study done, whilst being paid for it. Result.

No wind in the 7 day forecast though. Shame.
